On a personal note to all other members who want to trade with me fairly, I have been in barter since 1998 and I have seen it have good times and bad. However now that we have a CEO who understands and cares about the barter system, the way most of use care about our businesses, I am very hopeful that barter will get stronger and stronger over the next few years.

But just remember that the strength of barter has always been in its membership and the fact that the members treated it like a club membership and not a bank account. I do not care if my bank has other account holders or how they trade but if I turn up at a car club meet and I am the only one there willing to trade fairly it matters.

I would encourage barter card to bring back the benefits of full trade or no trade club member (Gold card memebers) or at lease incentives for transactions over 80%trade like maybe reduced fees.

I would encourage existing and new members to buy some insulation from me at the same price cash or trade and then do the same for your customer in the barter system. Some bad club member might charge more for barter transactions (I have seen it all in 26 years of trading) but every time a customer spends to much on your product, it devalues all the other trade dollars in everyones trading account. Traders like this hurt themselves and your business, so stick to the rules that made Bartercard better than all the other exchanges globally and lets make it great again.

1. Same price cash or trade, you devalue every dollar in your trading account every time you sell something for more than you would sell it to a cash customer. So even if you can sell it for more, Please DON'T trade like this.

2. Trade the way you want other members to trade with you and lets build a strong community of businesses that can trade well together. It used to be called full trade or no trade. However I did 100% barter on about 40k of work before Christmas and then found out that with the new app everyone is trading 70% cash and 50% barter (yes I know that makes it dearer than the cash price, I will not do that to you and so do not do it to me) Also lets report the bad traders like we used to and protect the value of our trading dollars.

3. De valuing your dollars is stupid, you pay tax on them in cash as if they are real dollars and so you should never de value them by charging more as if they have no value.

4. Price includes gst and trade fees, yes trade fees are on top of your normal business expenses but I would not drive past five other companies to buy from you unless it is good value for money and in barter. So this is a marketing cost that brings you new customers that you would not have had otherwise. So it should be the same price cash or trade regardless of the trade fees to be part of this wonderful club.

So come trade with me and be fair with me and expect me to be fair with you. Lets build a strong barter system where our trade dollars are worth the same as our cash dollars.
