Whitney Houston, universally revered as "The Voice", was a legendary American R&B and pop icon of the 1980s and 1990s whose staggering five-octave vocal range, emotional depth, and peerless technical precision made her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Her illustrious career was defined by record-shattering achievements, including an unmatched streak of seven consecutive number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 such as the triumphant empowerment anthem "Greatest Love of All", the vibrant pop track "How Will I Know", the soulful "Saving All My Love for You", and the exuberant dance classic "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)". She reached the absolute pinnacle of global superstardom with her monumental 1992 cover of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" for the Bodyguard soundtrack, which turned into a historic cultural phenomenon, remaining one of the best-selling singles by a female artist in history and forever cementing her status as an immortal musical powerhouse.
