Matava Eco Resort is located on the island of Kadavu, a 40 minute flight from Nadi FIJI.

Our accommodation and island boat transfers are payable on Trade as per pricing. Cash is only required for the meal plan and activities such as scuba diving, boat snorkel trips etc.

Grab a book and a cocktail from the bar and relax by the pool or spot our beautiful endemic birds on a walk through the organic farm. Or take a SUP or kayak and snorkel gear to setup and snorkel from the white sand beach on the island across the marine reserve in front of the resort.

Matava is a completely self-sufficient and sustainable eco resort. Power is provided by solar and batteries and water is provided by a beautiful natural spring that also feeds our handmade, volcanic rock, mineral swimming pool.

Matava isn't for everyone. It's for the adventurous souls who yearn to trade the manufactured for the natural and unplugged. It's for those who find beauty in disconnection and embrace the rhythm of nature If you must have air conditioning then Matava will not be for you.

To get to Matava resort, you can fly with Fiji Link from Nadi (most days) or Suva (once a week). Check their website, www.FijiAirways.com for the flight schedule. The flight from Nadi takes 40 minutes. The Kadavu airport has restrooms, but not many other amenities. Once you land, our staff will take you on a short 5-minute truck ride to a secluded bay. From there, you might need to wade through shallow water depending on the tide to board our transfer boat. The boat ride to the resort takes about 45 minutes and follows a route along the inside lagoons of the Great Astrolabe reef and offers stunning, beautiful scenery. For smaller groups we use a traditional fijian longboat – don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses or raincoat!

Due to our location there are no roads and no restaurants. Meals are provided as a daily meal plan including breakfast, 2 course lunch and 3 course dinner. This is AUD $85 per person per day (cash).

Satellite wifi is provided by starlink and can be accessed for a small daily cost. It is available throughout and around the main bure but does not reach the bures.

Beautiful clean drinking water is always available and provided by our own natural spring.

Dietary requirements can be catered for with notice.

Bures have varying bedding layouts ranging from one queen/king bed to a queen and 2 x single beds for families.
